I ran as the Liberal Democrat candidate for Framlingham Ward on the very simple premise that your local representative should be seen and heard, unafraid to listen and act.

During the campaign, I covered the entire Ward, chatting to residents and delivering over 4,000 leaflets! While my feet have not thanked me, I am deeply moved that on polling day many people in the community backed my message of change.

To be the first Liberal Democrat councillor for Framlingham and the nearby villages is an achievement I will always hold dear in my heart and the wave of support for the Liberal Democrats across the whole of East Suffolk means that the Council has gone from Conservative-led to no overall control, something hitherto unimaginable in our part of the world. It means the Liberal Democrats, together with the Greens and Independents, are in a strong position to form an administration and deliver for you.
